Hello and welcome back to the Animal Park blog. At long last the chickens are allowed out after their own pandemic. It has been long stint inside due to avian flu. It is just fantastic to see them stretching their legs again foraging away. I popped in to see the O’feather family who are in pen 1 today. Here is what Mr O’feather had to say.
“It is great to finally be out of our last isolation at first it wasn’t too bad, I managed to get a lot of work done around the coop and Mrs O’feather really honed her domestic skills’ after a week or so it got a bit tiresome. Luckily we were given things to do to keep our minds active. Ive never thought of myself as an avid branch picker before but I cant get enough of it. The main upside was the time we had together, we are both usually busy all day but we could finally stop and talk, remembering what brought us together in the first place. Let me just say a lot of eggs were laid in the last few months. In those moments we felt we needed different company, I would cockadoodle-call the other families in the area, it really helped keep us connected. Its great that we can finally get back to some normality'
It was great to see Mr O’feather with a twinkle in his eye and a spring in his step, looking forward to a lovely summer.I can honestly say I have never seen the O’feather coop so tidy and Summer Ready!
Keep an eye out next week to see who I’ve had the chance to interview over the weekend
